A year ago, I saw a friend’s post on Facebook – it was her “before and after” pictures and her story. It wasn’t that I related to her story as much as I wanted a story of my own.
This friend mentioned that she was now a trainer at Higher Power Fitness, and was teaching small group training at her church one day a week. So, I signed up for that one day a week session. Something in that session started a fire in me – I loved the way I felt and I loved how my body responded.
Within the first couple of months, I lost 30 pounds and 15+ inches. I did my very first 5k and wanted to do more.
Fast forward a few months, and I signed up for Higher Power Fitness, where she trains. I had never signed up for a gym before, and I didn’t know what to expect. I instantly felt welcomed and loved going. I started with Foundations sessions and have worked my way up to doing Industrial Strength and Afterburn.
I never thought I would be the type of person who looked forward to working out. Yet here I am, loving it!
